Thread: The following 2 tracks are closed in Vic High country

I spent Sat & Sun traveling around the Vic High Country. Perfect weather again and perfect views.

If you are travelling around Mt Stirling or Bluff Hut please note the following:

1. Clear Hills Tk to Craig's Hut is open but from the Monument Tk intersection to Mt Stiriling is closed from 1st May to End Nov (not with a gate but a very clear sign that didn't seem to stop a big group of 4WD's 8O ). Monument Tk is interesting in the wet. The D3 was getting very closed up going down hill until I engaged the HDC.

2. The Bluff Tk to Bluff Hut is open but a notice is posted to state from Lovicks to King Billy 1 & 2 it is closed. From Lovicks Hut (being rebuilt) it is gated closed. You can detour (very long detour - maybe 20+km) back down Cairn Ck Tk onto Brocks Rd and this will bring you back onto where Bluff Tk comes out - it takes about an 1hr of slow driving down Cairn Ck Tk because it is quite overgrown. Note that Topo map shows Cairn Ck Tk not joining Bluff Tk - it does now after a new track has been graded in. Cairn Ck Tk joins just before Lovicks Hut when you come from Bluff Hut.

Pretty much all the other roads I came across just showed they will be closed from 16th June to 30 Nov for the seasonal closure.

I am all up for dobbing these dickheads in because they are the ones that ruin it for the rest of us... just look at what is happening in bunyip etc...
