    Ive got one in the v8 landy it works fine. All the trucks are using them instead of uhf.

    With the plethora of cheap UHF hand helds cluttered air waves could become a problem.

    I still marvel at the ignorance and lack of ettiquette.

    Using the emergency channel for instance.

    The last few times I've been on the highway I have tried mine and found silence too. The handheld UHF on the other hand was chatter chatter chatter every time there was a concentration of traffic somewhere or a train of vehicles passing.
