Worlds best 4WD

The contenders...
Nissan Pathfinder [the new, USA looking model]
Hyundai Terracan
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Nissan Patrol
Misubishi Pajaro
Toyota LC/Prado
Kia Sorento
LandRover Discovery 3
LandRover Defender 110
Santana PS10

The Points
82/100
74/100
70/100
63/100
59/100
54/100
53/100
47/100
43/100
37/100

FYI... it was up to the manufacturer's whether or not they supplied their vehicles with Mud Tyres or not.

The tests were...
Ramp Over - for axle articulation
Side Slope before sliding sideways - the max was 40 degrees
Hill Climb up a muddly slope
Approach Angle
Departure Angle
Ramp Breakover
Ground Clearance - not in degrees but in practical world of logs before getting grounded
Mud Run
Obstacle Course - round a 4x4 track
Turning Circle

And the winner is;

Makes you wonder hey.
Cheers Baz.

So the results are...... in order of last place to first place...

10th place with 37 points is - Nissan Pathfinder
9th place with 43 points is - Hyndai Terracan
8th place with 47 points is - Jeep Grand Cherokee
7th place with 53 points is - Nissan Patrol
6th place with 54 points is - Mistubishi Pajero
5th place with 59 points is - Toyota LC/Prado
4th place with 63 points is - Kia Sorrento
3rd place with 70 points is - Land Rover Discovery 3
2nd place with 74 points is - Land Rover Defender 110
1st place with 82 points is - Santana PS10 !!!

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but I wonder if Land Rover are flattered that their Defender 110 copy, Santana PS10, with leaf, not coil springs bettered their own product?
Cheers Baz.

Yep. I've seen the 100 Series on the 4WD track at the Caravan and Camping Show.
