Staun Deflators

Hi all,
Bought some of those Staun Deflators, anyone running Coopers ST's have em? and do you keep the factory set 18psi or lower? if lower how far before your tyres run off the rim?
I'm a bit worried that anything lower will be destructive not constructive.
Thanks in Advance for your learned input.

Gday DD,

I have two set at 24 for general tracks, and another two left at the 18 for more difficult tracks. I havent dropped below 18 on my ST's yet, but then again I havent done any sand driving.

I have run my Cooper STT's at 15psi on the beach with no problems at all using the ataun deflators. I have run tyres BFG's, Bridgestones Desert Duellers and Michelins at 10 psi in really heavy soft sand and have only ever peeled one tyre which was a Desert Dueller on a Pajero, but I was cutting sick in the sand dunes.

Good stuff CraigE,,

you can run tyres extremely low, for short periods, at very low speeds,

if you have to,,,

it does appear we must refrain from "cutting sick" though,,, 8O

Most mags say to go to about 20 in reasonably soft sand and 16 if the sand is really soft. Matt

"Sands ain't sands."

They all vary.

Stauns get you somewhere near where you should be and the rest is up to you and judgement.
