When my first daughter was born 3 years ago there was a whooping cough outbreak and the obstetrician was very blunt. Don't let anyone near her if they haven't had a recent vaccination. My 75 year mother had a shot before visiting. She had no issues in doing so. Some people suggested we were paranoid but it kills infants.
