Just a little warm here yesterday. 47.5 degrees in the shade on our verandah. North west suburb of Sydney.

50.9 in the shade on my verandah here yesterday afternoon. Supposed to be worse today, although 'worse' is probably just the wind not the temperature. Up to 40 now (0840), but although the thermometer is in the shade, that is the sunny side of the house.

Our thermometer is on the verandah in the shade, was supposed to be hot yesterday. 35 deg @ 2pm. I don't call that hot, will report later today the temp.

It peaked at 36.6 in New Farm yesterday, but relatives in Lismore said it was 42.
I'm told that Moree has had 45 consecutive days of 35+ temperatures, which is a record.
I feel sorry for people in extreme areas today. I see the NSW fire danger rating is 150!
