Speaking of our houses, are they spying on us?
Smart TVs, internet hubs, security cameras, Bluetooth toothbrushes, even doorbells with cameras and facial recognition - it's all out there. Where does all that data go? Who is using data about us? How are they using our data?
Am I just being paranoid? No, this is actually happening.
This study found one Samsung smart TV sent data to 700 internet addresses in 15 minutes. Seriously.

Then there was the case I saw on tv this week where google or alexa emailed a transcript of the home owner's conversation to an acquaintance's address because it misinterpreted something they said.

Also google or alexa has been laughing at people, once again misinterpreting something, thinking they are asking it to laugh.

Not just corporate - recently discovered that 500,000 to 1,000,000 routers round the world are infected with malware that enables spying. Called VPNfilter, it is believed to have originated with the "Fancy Bear" group, probably the Russian Government.

I would expect that there are other similar spies that have not been discovered yet!

Just a heads up that 4 x 4 Australia June has an excellent 6 page spread on the 70th at Cooma. Bought it this morning. Lots of pics and details, including owner profiles. Good stuff.

I bought the 4X4 Australia magazine too, and the Cooma article says they saw plated vehicles from all over Aus, except for the Northern Territory. Did they miss someone?
