Makes another note to self not to look at dazzling lights as some old giffer with a .303 could be behind said light..
Speaking as a Deer, of course.
I reckon you have hit the nail.My non-scientific explanation is standard headlights produce a warmer light than LEDs, whose light is colder.
LEDs do seem much more penetrating & not a bad thing along an unlit road but the warmer ones to me, are much more comfortable on the eyes.
What is needed is a compromise.
A couple of Brass Horse Drawn Carriage Lamps would be nice but only if one was travelling at 4 MPH.![]()
Not good when coming toward you in dust either. Pretty much blind me...

I wonder if some of these imported LED headlights actually have some error in the way the low beam is cutoff, so they maybe point too high? Is that possible?

It would be quite easy for Portuguese voyages to that part of the world to be lost. As the pioneers of European voyages to the east, they did their level best to keep discoveries secret, to the extent that all records were required by law to be kept in the Indies Archives in Lisbon, and copying them was a capital offence. (Of course, some were copied, but probably only a fraction of them)
And then on 1/11/1755, most of Lisbon was destroyed by the Great Lisbon Earthquake and tsunami. The Indies archives and all their records were totally destroyed.
