I find anything with codeine in it works a treat for me on the symptoms of flu.

However, when the virus knocks around your immune system you can get a bacterial secondary infection, like bacterial pneumonia and for that AB's are indicated.

I tries Codeine once when I had a rotten cold - knocked me out cold for nearly 2 days.... Won't be doing that again, but by the same token, it certainly did help my cold symptoms - I didn't feel a thing...

I'm on the antibiotics and think I'm slowly improving. Incidentally, the doc said if your snot goes green you need antibiotics. After 4 days of being miserable I'm just ready to bomb it with anything available to get some improvement. It can only get better.
