RAV 4 Mick? You've obviously never driven one mate.

Or just buy a Suzuki sierra for $5k tops... then mod the heck out of it.

She was well taught no problems with the driving. Very little backlash on the gear changes.

Might be looking for another Defender soon cos she's not getting either of ours.

Just had a look at the Disco's. I thought they would be out of her price range but there's a good selection that she might be able to consider.

So I'll add them to the list.

Don't know whether you have noticed, Ian, but I'm not a chicky babe.

The mini Pocket Rocket isn't really the Chicky Babe kind of girl. She'd probably punch anyone who called her that.

A Freelander 2 will go most places unless you are doing big rock steps. RAV 4's are rubbish 4wd's, you have to tow them up most steep hills.

Probably get short shrift for posting this, but IMHO and on the balance of probabilities, a non-abused 2h Jap softie (eg suzuki, mitsu or pathfinder) will have less maintenance issues than any LR.

My Freelander 2 has had very few issues in 7 years and 223k kms. Rear diff issue under warranty and has been serviced by my local since I got the first bill from a dealer. I did have a worn cv joint front left but it's had a hard life and done a lot off road.
