During a UHF conversation with a couple of grey nomads a few years ago, I was accused of driving 'round with millions of dollars behind me. I pointed out that three trailers hold 100,000 litres and the value was significantly less than one trailer of International Roast instant coffee.
A small trailer load of inkjet printer cartridges would probably also be worth a lot more than that.

Slightly digressive but as a side point I knew a girl from Uni that ended up working in the snowfields in NSW somewhere as a surveyor. 24 months contract on a project. She'd thought she'd be clever and bought a troop carrier, then fitted long range tanks to it (It already had the standard 2x90L tanks). Always did her shopping in the nearest big town and never bought any incidentals or fuel locally, since it was 25c dearer. In the end she got shunned by the whole community and had only one friend.
I don't like paying more for fuel than the next bloke but I know sometimes its better to support the local community.
Thank you very much Ron. I'm on Safari which has spell check. Sometimes though I like to check to make sure i've got the right word and sometimes my spelling is so far out that even spellcheck doesn't know what I'm up to. Oxford dictionaries are available as Applications and they're very handy.Quote:

I don't know if its still the case, but South Africa used to have set fuel prices for an area. Slightly cheaper closer to the refineries and getting more expensive slightly the further away you moved. Great idea, you always knew the fuel price, it didn't keep fluctuating. You chose your fuel by convenience of petrol station or who offered the best service.
Price changes were always publicised beforehand, if price increase then the queues got huge, if down the servos were deserted.

Well I've just checked fuelwatch and I'm going to be paying $1.65cpl next week as opposed to $1.30ish per litre this week. But then I won't be going to work either. :lol2:
On the other subject matter some of the people in my team at work might consider me the grammar nazi as I check their letters and make corrections all of the time to correct punctuation.

Yea i normally dont put much petrol in it as its a pig. I rely on gas almost completely.
Anyway im going to the closest servo to fill up.
No idea of the price and nor do i really care.
I am curious to see how much lighter my wallet will be today though.
Will post up the price when i fill up.
I only do it because I work for the govt and these are formal letters going out so they need to not have spelling errors, typos or grammatical errors so you come across as professional. Personally I'm less concerned with correctness than I am with consistency, ie punctuate the same way through your whole letter not chop and change depending on how you feel.Quote:
