We are insured via a Broker, they choose the best deal for us, which must include being insured offroad, with all accessories covered also, and contents, plus one free winscreen a year(any glass) also our camper Trailer, we do pay a tad more for this, but it's worth it.

We use DGA in Victoria, currently our underwriter is Alliance, with the usual things attached with Excess and no claim bonus.

DGA or TCIS do 4wd specific insurance. Normal insurance covers most if not all aspects of 4wding. The 4wd specific policies provide better recovery benefits plus non standard accessories.

The bonus using DGA and TCIS, is if you tried for the same deal direct to the insurer, you would be paying a lot more with less benifits.

I was with TCIS and found them OK if a bit more expensive since they changed ownership. If your vehicle is not a daily driver Shannons can be pretty cost effective with similar 4wd coverage

The reason we went with DGA, according to Kerry(she does all the chasing up) DGA were the most cost effective when we changed over, probably helps when you insure multiple vehicles, our daughters Amarok and the camper are done through them also.
