so.....let me get this straight........
you only stopped to look at it after you dropped mrs vlad off......
that would be for health safety reasons right?
As I drove Mrs Vlad to work today I saw a SWB series landy for sale at Sandgate racecourse.
Though advertised for $800 (and therefore an impediment to purchase with the minister of finance  ) I dropped in for a look on the way home.
Now, I have no idea what a series 2 in 'poor' condition would be worth but I assume $800 is WAY too much.
Sure the steel window bits were rusty, they always are. However, everything that was made of steel was rusty to some degree. I couldn't get at the firewall (the owners were away or asleep) but I suspect it wouldn't be good. No idea if the chassis is ordinary - suspect it is, but wasn't getting down into the mud to find out. The wheels were rusty, the hubs were worse.
In fact the best bit was the old metal Land Rover badge on the back but I figured that probably costs $800 with the rest of the car thrown in for free.
Anyway he's dreaming.
On the way out I had a quick look at a LWB series wagon he had parked up - it is pretty awful too.
