My memory is better than yours Ian, I just googled it and it was released in 1970 as I thought. I can remember listening to it on the radio in the XP Ford Futura I had at the time.
    Cheers......Brian

Probably still popular in 1971 when I started working. Forgive me, I was very young then.

It must have been popular for many years, cause I can remember it and I was only in grade 1 we didn't have TV but Mum always had the radio on (that makes me sound old saying we didn't have TV!)

I remember the song but not her name. To tell the truth, I've never heard of her.

Sad to hear, not a country fan so didn't really like the song, Joe South wrote it in 1969 for his album "Rose Garden" his version was better I thought.

I left School in 1971, 4th Nov to study for the School Cert at Belmont High.

2HD and 2KO used to play it all the time, I was more a 2NX fan in those days, until Double J started.
