In 71, I was at school in Year 7.![]()
It must have been popular for many years, cause I can remember it and I was only in grade 1we didn't have TV but Mum always had the radio on (that makes me sound old saying we didn't have TV!)
I remember the song but not her name. To tell the truth, I've never heard of her.

Sad to hear, not a country fan so didn't really like the song, Joe South wrote it in 1969 for his album "Rose Garden" his version was better I thought.
I left School in 1971, 4th Nov to study for the School Cert at Belmont High.
2HD and 2KO used to play it all the time, I was more a 2NX fan in those days, until Double J started.
