Didn't they do a Simpson desert crossing a few years ago?

I'm pretty sure there's photos in the Birdsville Hotel.

I'll check up in few weeks hahaha.

    Know the feeling!
It would be a fantastic trip but they would be very long days, especially
    over rough country.
A couple of hours on one of ours slashing or weed spraying and I am getting around like a half open pocket knife. They don't have good seats.
    Tractorback is not fun!
There is a lot be said for modern suspension seats on tractors.

    Cheers, Mick.

Ran into this mob in Coolgardie in mid July. Two of a larger group of Fergys meeting up in Kalgoorlie for a trip north to Laverton where the tractors were to be unloaded and then driven across to Coober Pedy via the Anne Beadell 'Highway', one of the roughest/most corrugated roads in the country, and then on to Alice Springs for the festivities. Basically crazy really but quite determined.

    I hope they made it.

We met one of them a couple of weeks ago in Tjukayirla campsite on the GCR when we stopped off for fuel and a quick overnighter.
The old chap was driving a truck with trailer and hadn't done the Connie Sue with the rest because of the width of his vehicle.
Saw then a few years ago travelling through the south west on one of their joints. Big waves all round from fellow travellers in pain.....
