The 2 big holes in that argument are that firstly, not everyone can be a scientist or an engineer. Secondly, even if they could, jobs for scientists and engineers are also going offshore.

The 2 big holes in that argument are that firstly, not everyone can be a scientist or an engineer. Secondly, even if they could, jobs for scientists and engineers are also going offshore.
Thirdly, where do all the engineering and science degrees get to practice their craft? By building something perhaps, working on a project that a local company needs to manufacture an item, researching a new more efficient product or way of making it perhaps?
It's only once they have these skills on their resume that they can sell them overseas.
So our locally trained engineers and scientists go to India or Asia to help build steel plants or bridges. Our locally trained cadets who used to be employed in their hundred in the 90's in numerous fields are now employed by numerous subcontractors who do both local and global work.
But where do the next generation get those background skills and experience of all manufacturing is gone?
And the US has stepped up again to stop dumping by China, their tarrif is now almost 18 times ours is on the same goods.
When will any side take action in our country?
America slaps 522pc trade duty on imports of subsidised Chinese steel
And when you block one hole on the Market, you put extra pressure on the holes that are open.
It's to hard to resist:D
The "holes" ( both red and 2 shades of blue) in Canberra are resisting any push by manufacturers to get up of their "holes" and plug the holes costing jobs as their "holes " are being greased and fed by foreign "holes".
This will send this country into a black jobless hole.
The most shocking thing is the ones most in favour of a "low carb diet" along with a few randoms are in favour off adopting US/Canadian policy. But that idea has been shot by a blue red blue punch combo!
Well that was pretty cryptic but I think I get it.
Well hear we go again guys,..."saving our manufacturing"?.....well here's a few guys who obviously couldn't give a stuff about anyone,...except themselves,.....certainly not about Aussie.
Melbourne Sun & Age, BOTH report today that the CFMEU looks like gaining a 5% P.A. payrise for its 30,000 members ,.....OVER THREE YEARS,...a FIFTEEN PERCENT PAYRISE,.....what a joke,....absolutely ridiculous, IMHO of course.
FIFTEEN PERCENT,...how is that going to assist Aussie manufacturing?.....Yeah right.
MUA is doing the same thing,....FOR WHAT.
All this just makes us more & more,.....COMPETITIVE?,.....but I suppose no-one's listening,...or cares,.....do they?
Pickles.
How much do you think they should get Pickles?
Is 3% a year excessive?
