My old man is doing life in jail for killing 4 people.
I wonder if the left over family members think it was a weapon he used?
A gun is a damn weapon!
If you use a rifle to put butter on bread one could say its not a weapon.
Yet under aussie law i think it would still be considered a weapon and not a butter knife.

Its not a weapon its a tool just like any other . I've shot in a few large matches around the country for various disciplines and I enjoy a drink but at events like that its still poor form to get that ****ed you can't move your car with out crashing it.

Cant say i have ever heard of anyone getting busted for carrying a concealed tool. Know of people charged with carrying a concealed weapon though.
So i guess Australia law suggests otherwise.

I believe you can be charged with 'driving under the influence' on public and private property.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Australian law also considers a knife (which spreads butter) a weapon if concealed on a person...

A firearm is what the Australian Law sees a rifle as..

If carried appropriately (in a case, to a range, shooting site) it is not considered a weapon...

I have a lovely Baseball bat... its just a Bat... until someone breaks into my house....

No such "context" from me my friend......I have no problems with firearms,...ANY firearms.
How was I to know He was using a "Rifle"?....Could've been a shot gun?...I wouldn't know.
I simply wanted to know, still do, what sort of "Gun" (if you like) He was shooting, at what range etc.

I never have been one for carrying a weapon in PNG, ie a pistol or flare gun (nasty) , but one of these cocked and primed has defused many a situation.

And Cafe Latte bloody well done.

Apologies for the choice of vehicle. But the dog doesn't mind

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

A cricket bat is a weapon if you hit someone on the head with it otherwise it is just a tool for a sport. A rifle is a firearm unless you use it as a weapon. My rife is a .308 single shot target rifle, it weighs 8.25kgs and only my loaded ammo will fit in it. I doubt anyone has been murdered with a target rifle, apart it is only single shot it is way too heavy to use as anything but shooting targets. Guns always seem to get a knee jerk reaction from some, but remember many sports stem from combat or war, but now they are just sport. Target rifle is the oldest sport in Australia and actually probably the safest whatever people might think.
As shooters we are not gun crazed idiots running round causing trouble, the comp I just went to was a National championships and from it the Aus team will be selected from those that nominate. I was in the North QLD team and we came second by just a few points, I hope I can be on the team that goes to Canada and hopefully bring it home for Austraia in 2017. Attending the comp in Belmost was not only the team that won the world championships in America (yes Aus won), but our Olympic and Commonwealth shooters. We are sportsmen and women, this is a sport like any other. Javalin, hammer, darts, fencing, boxing, what is so different about target rifle?

It is FTR .308 target rifle with a bipod and 185 grain projectiles. The comp was at Belmont in Brisbane which is an amazing range, apparently not only the best range in Aus but one of the best in the world. It goes oout to 1,000 yards and the 1,000 at Belmosnt is seriously tricky as we all found out.

Thanks mate, I hope I did enough to get to Canada as I have been working towards it for over a year, fingers crossed.
I love the dog my Pluto guards my Defender, he especially guards it from anyone wearing yellow or orange for some reason, no idea what he has against yellow and orange!
