Well for fear of amputation, roof collapses, cancer, and drowning from water leaks, I'll cover my roof with checker plate and sikaflex.
    Just kidding.
I shall not let all the anti sunroof plebs bring me down

Oh and let's face it, we drive land rovers. In the event of a roll over, the sunroof is the least of your worries....

And here I was thinking it was an escape hatch.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

You'd think the gov would do something,,
I rolled my RRc in 2001. While the vehicle was skidding along the road upside down, my left arm had lost grip of the wheel and must have been hanging on the roof lining where the sun roof would be (you could tell by the blood stains from the cuts on my hands from the all the shattered glass). I also had gravel rash from my right shoulder to wrist.

If there was a sunroof there I would surely have suffered serious hand injuries or worse.

Still it is just my opinion that I'd never again buy a vehicle with a hole in the roof.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

If you put the window down the Air Cond doesn't work!

But unfortunately the windows on the driver's side all smashed and my arm left little lumps of flesh on the road. (tiny lumps gravel erupted from my arm for years afterwards.)

...by this rationale we shouldn't buy vehicles with any windows at all!
hmm, i suggest there's equal if not better (two sides) chance you'd be sliding on the side in a roll over!

I wouldn't have chosen a sun hatch if my puma landy hadn't come with one when I spotted him under the gum tree waiting for me to take him home. Not because of safety, but because of heat. But with a layer of 99%UV tint, it's all ok.

...I've also grown to like it for the expulsion of hot air (pun intended), but above all it's nice to have it open when roving slowly along, down the beach or through the bush, on a beautiful spring or early summer's day. It's nice to see the rain above too.

Had a student once who just got his license, was driving his Suzuki Sierra round the dirt roads a little fast, and forgetting he wasn't on his bicycle, tipped it, and put his hand out the open window to stop himself from falling over.

Had a difficult time doing exams at the end of the year.
