GANGgajang - Sounds Of Then (This Is Australia)

    Hello All,

For the past three days I have been able to do the following ...

Out on the patio we'd sit,
    And the humidity we'd breathe,
We'd watch the lightning crack over canefields
Laugh and think, this is Australia.

I live in Kalkie Queensland and the GangaJang song is reputed to have been written while a band member watched lighting crack over the Kalkie canefields. Oh yes I have sugarcane fields at the front and at the back of me.

I am very pleased to be able to watch the lighting crack because it has brought three lots of rain - our first for a very long time. The grass cracked while you walked over it and everything was brown.

Trouble is with some moisture back in the ground + heat and guess what? The grass will be reinvigorated and then it will need mowing each week! Green is good though.

Better, definitely better. But somehow still too "artsy-fartsy" with those shots in negative etc. More Aussie scenes would be nice... I don't know, maybe some cane fields? Lightning perhaps?

At least this is one of those songs that I can listen to as a song, unlike a lot of new songs that would be nothing without their video clips. And then there is that "Wrecking Ball" song that just goes to show that they don't write songs like they used to...

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
