    What`s that Skippy? Lost?

Yesterday after I got back from picking up my bull bar the missus informs me that we have roo in our back yard. No big deal I said it will leave when it is ready to. Missus tells me this morning before she leaves for work that it is still there. So I go and have a closer look. It is a Eastern grey and I`m guessing not fully grown. Our fences are wire and about 1200mm high, so should not be a problem for a Eastern gray. There is about 1.5 ks away open country where there is a mob of kangaroos. This I presume is where this one is from. To end up in our yard I think it might have been chased by local dogs. Why it won`t jump our fences is a worry. I have contacted wild life Victoria who will be sending some one out. Call to wild life Victoria was interesting. Not your normal reporting of a bird or possum. We have had echidnas come through here and there are wallabies around, first kangaroo though.

I did make the suggestion of the sniper on the grassy knoll. No sense of humor or agreement on that suggestion from the missus and daughter.

The grass is probably greener on your side of the fence. Why not just open the gate and let it hop out?

Dogs, lots of dogs and a pretty busy road. Really needs to get over our back fence and back into the scrub.

Kangaroos are often reluctant to jump fences, either because they can't see them clearly or because they are not good at judging the height of their jumps.

I've noticed heaps of them recently at the roadside around Lysterfield Lake just near you. I would have said they were virtually unknown around there until the last few years, they seem to be being displaced by the urban expansion.
