I could actually, legally steer that setup,as long as the weights were within spec.
In WA we have a farmers MC licence,so you can tow multiple implements with machinery.I have one of these MCX endorsements on my licence from when I had to tow a tillage bar and air seeder box behind a tractor on public roads, interestingly there is no limit on the number of units you could tow.We were stopped several times by the mermaids and nerver got booked, all they wanted to see was I had a MC licence. As its all towed empty the weight isnt that great.
My good mate Derby Dan has done plenty of Kimberly road grading,he would tow an accomadation trailer and fuel trailer when it was time to shift camp.He would also be doing his first cut at the same time

Not sure Andrew but I think that if the grader is road registered in the NT then one 'trailer' is permitted. I don't think the MC licence extends to graders.

As the article said, he told the boys he had a permit and didn't...

The grader itself wont do much better than 45kmh.It should have the grunt to maintain 45kmh pulling that rig, wouldnt be as heavy as pulling a full mullboard full of dirt

And I reckon it would have the stoppers to pull that combo up fairly smartly....
