I have to add that I hate the noise pollution hardleys make...can't be legal? It's such a 'look at me and I don't give a **** about your right to hear anything but my exhaust' type of nauseating burble. The type of sound that only someone with no self-respect can like

Now a Ducati on the other hand, pure bliss and it actually handles more than a straight line.

Flying an alpha with rods visible on the boat, especially with lines in the water is more or less an guaranteed way to get the WP's attention and be invited to have a conversation, and if its not it should be.

As a diver, I hate coming up into fishing line, I especially hate when the token fisherman throws his heavy line in and hooks up a 4 foot shark, I do not want to see that hauled up to the boat after I've just been hanging off the drop line for 5 at 5 while being told "you guys took your time, can you hurry up and get out of the water so I can real this in?"

I can teach you some swearing middle eastern words to keep them at bay.

Decided to spend New Year's Day with family and friends on my boat having a picnic in Pitwatter near Barrenjoey. There were about 20 boats all anchored up having a swim and generally a good time.

Then they arrived. About 6 or seven jetskis racing around between the boats and chucking donuts and jumping each other's wake. Some were close to kids in kayaks and stand up paddleboards.

I put up with this for about 1/2 an hour then thought enough is enough. I smiled at one guy close to my boat and motioned him to come over. When he came in I pointed out that maybe the boats up here having a quiet picnic did not particularly want to listen or watch them showing what a pack of imbeciles they were. There is the whole of Pitwatter and the Hawkesbury to ride without giving people the ****s.

This chap, who happened to be of middle eastern appearance then launched into a tyraid of abuse and swearing threatening to get 20 of his mates and come back and ride around my boat as well as yelling out it was his right to ride where ever he wanted.

I told him to get as many as he wants and I will just make a short call to the Water Police and have them waiting when they get back.

This is not the first time I have had words with jetski riders on the water while fishing, cutting across my bow when coming into the bar at Forster, pulling onto the boat ramp out of turn and riding close to the beach and swimmers.

The best thing ever was banning them from Sydney Harbour. I am sure they are fun to ride but is seems that the guys that ride them seem to think everyone else is interested in how cool they are so they have to ride next to you to show you. I am also afraid that all of the ones that I have had run ins with are middle eastern and have attitude to burn.

Anyway he or his mates did not come back and we had a very pleasant time for the rest of the day

Thanks Lebanon. I am merely pointing out that like everyone, I like to have my relaxation time maximised without people of any background undertaking activities which upset what the majority of people are wanting to do.

In this case, all of the boats moored were having a quiet relaxing time with friends and family. It does not take a rocket surgeon to work out that riding a noisy watercraft in close proximity to them, their boats, or their loved ones in the water may cause them to be frowned upon and asked to go somewhere else.

If I pulled up to where they were operating away from everyone and then told them to rack off they would have every right to tell me to stick my boat where the sun does not shine.

It just sems to me that where ever I see them, it is the same bunch of Habibis hell bent on trying to show everyone how fully sick their souped up Jetski is.

I was never a fan of Bob Carr as Premier but I am eternally grateful for him banning them on Sydney Harbour

I am afraid that it won't be long until they are banned from all popular waterways such as Botany and Broken Bay. maybe they can set aside an area near the sewer outfalls for Jetskis

Keep in mind everyone - that a view of what's unpleasant is subjective to all people. How loud? What frequency? Time? Type of noise? etc etc...

Harley exhausts are objectionable to most people.

But to a Harley guy, yours might sound like a girls bike

    See, it's subjective.
