ATGATT... I'd take the car....
SGSOTT... Life's too short to worry...
When cruising around town in summer I'll go shorts and T-shirt.
After all a Lycra warrior is going as quick and no ones sees the issue..
jeez.....I'm a freebagger......don't look Ethel!
I hear that occasionally; often From those who risk assess differently. I always wear closed in footwear - even as a kid on a treadly..
I ride to work, never crack 80km/h...
Regularly paced by a mate on the bike track...
He's in a T-shirt and shorts with a cyclist helmet on... No-one says a word...
Perception is subjective...
On longer runs, out of town, the gear comes out..
Unlike those who are judging people on what they ride, it has a lot more to do with how they ride...
Almost all weekend warriors I've met have put a bike down more than once... Because when they're out on their bike they enjoy massaging a few speed limits, pushing corners etc. fun as heck but not exactly responsible, risk assessed riding
I've seen blokes on Cruisers put blokes on Ducatis and Litre bikes to shame on twisties, I've ridden with a 5'4" 75kg bloke who would back a 375kg bike into corners without a thought...
The roads around town present very little risk... And if I had to gear up for a 5 minute run each time I'd sell the bike...
It doesn't matter what you ride, it matters that you ride..
And there's plenty of dicks on Ducs and Tools on Trumps to match the Harley try Hards...
For the record, I currently ride a Suzuki Cruiser.... I like all bikes..
