To me he was a musical chameleon. A sad day today hearing of his death. He always seemed ageless and one of those people who would be here forever.

Such a trendsetter and brilliant musician. Died of lung cancer, for the life of me I still can't understand young people still taking it up.
    RIP David

Don't mind getting out a bit of Bowie every now and then. Alladin Sane, Hunky Dory, Diamond Dogs etc. I remember finding one of his tapes of his very early stuff in a bargain bin once, it had this song on it [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyQxTWDLZ8o[/ame]

Extract from today's Sydney Morning Herald letters, one viewpoint

Fuelled trajectory of the true Starman

    ..........

David Bowie was a 69-year-old man who died of a common disease. He did not contribute one benefit to humanity during his whole drug-addicted life, not one. He was a drug-addicted alcoholic entertainer and some people worship entertainers as if they are special. They are not.

I hope David finds the peace in death that he could not find in life.

    Ken Morehouse Wangaratta (Vic)
