    Vale Alan Rickman

    British actor Alan Rickman dies from cancer aged 69 - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

    Another in the 69 club. He was a great character actor especially as a villain. I must watch Quigley Down Under again where he cops it at the end....

    Crikey, 68 or 69 seems to be a bad age lately with David Bowie, Stevie Wright and now Alan Rickman dropping off the twig. I loved him as the bad guy in "Harry Potter".

    When I saw the name I immediately thought of motorcycles but they were different Rickmans.

    I had to Google his name. I've never heard of him. I looked his filmography and noticed I've never seen any of his films.

    69 is too young - I'm 68!

    I first saw him playing the Rev. Obadiah Slope, in the excellent BBC Series, "The Barchester Chronicles" C1982.
