Exactly, thats why i said 3rd world markets.
I disagree with Terry though on the new models fighting for market share, what ever form the Defender replacement takes its highly unlikely to be competing with a Discovery unless it shares the same platform which will be a turn off for most of the die hard fans.

Keeping it simple is complicated.
I'm betting JLR will do its best through price, appointments, gizmos and general luxury features to ensure the new Defender doesn't compete with the D5. I'm betting the standard level Defender won't have leather seats and the high spec model will be more expensive than a similar appointed D5.
I think it will aim at work and recreational market.

There better be a ute or they'll miss out on the work market entirely.
Also I am SICK of posts of the DC100 all over facebook (especially) claiming the DC100 is THE new defender going into production.
as the article Inc linked to says -
I'm just sick of telling people they are full of **** so I don't bother any more.(the new Defender) won't bear much resemblance to the DC100 concept shown back in 2011
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Just a thought, Defender tragics should come to terms with the Mahindra as the only option, unless a Tata knock down version is in the pipeline. The knock down option makes sense, because it would employ workers in England, initially, then the cheaper workers in India [ place country name here.]
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Again for some reason you are taking a myopic view on all of this.
I'm guessing you are quoting Australian sales numbers and that is fine, but Disco's and Defenders are not just built for the Australian market are they? And LR don't just decide on their world wide production time frames for new model releases based around what might sell in Australia.
I invite you to go back and read what I actually wrote, I did actually say 'world'.
Cheers,
Terry

JLR latest quarterly sales figures (October 2015) were very roughly evenly divided between UK, Europe, China, nth America, & other. Other which includes Australia. The sales numbers included Jaguars.
