    Hi,
I rode my son's bike a few months ago. Suziki something, over 1000cc.
    Insane power.

Much prefer my BMW 75/6 at 750cc and over 330,000 km. Very predictable.

    Cheers

When i lived in Darwin and Katherine I owned a Suzuki GSXR 750, it was a great bike to ride, with plenty of power, can't imagine what a 1000 would be like.
I used to comfortably ride that bike around at 200 kmh and was able to get it up to 275, although only did it once to se what it would do. This was back when we had open speed limits. In the N.T. I never had an issue riding at speed on the open road, but was well aware of all other vehicles and surroundings.
In 2005, I moved to Perth, where I lived in Rivervale and worked at Perth Airport. It did not take me long to park the bike in the shed and eventually sell it, due to 3 very close calls in a short period of time getting to work. Fortunately for me I always rode with my head on a swivel and thought that everyone was out to get me, and they were.
I never had an accident, but the close calls were to frequent, so that I just could not ride any more as the odds for me were getting worse. All near misses i had were in back streets where the car drivers just did not look.
Riding is great fun, I loved it, but for me, was just not worth the risk in the suburbs, even at low speeds.

Well said Greg. I went back to riding after the first big hit because i just loved it. Had a succession of big single road trail tourers (WA is a big state ) and like you saw some bizarre behaviour in traffic and also had a few near misses. Left the odd Alpinestar boot prints in a few car doors i can tell you. Eventually sold my last bike, a Dr650RS, to finance a move interstate and thats where I left the bike scene. Married with children after that so more responsibilities and risk just aren't worth it. More than likely i have worse reflexes etc than i did 30 years ago so that helps keep me away from 2 wheels now.

My old man has a GSX1400.
    It's absolutely brutal
I'd love to get my bike license.
And I'd love to get an R34 skyline, I've always wanted one.
However I know myself. I simply wouldn't be able to help myself, speed is such an addictive thrill.
And I know that the sort of thing that breaks that addiction is generally the kind of thing you don't want to experience
    But we'll see.
