It was never the Volvo that was the problem, just the owners. I've driven a few lively Volvo bricks and they are pretty good fun. The 265 wagon I had for a few months was a rocket and it sounded good too warped to the max.

I'd like one of the 80's 240's and whack a V8 in it, been done before and they can be a real sleeper.

I don't think it is the cars people drive that designate a bad driver or someone to be wary of on the road.
It's the drivers, 99% of today's drivers STILL do not know the road rules, esp. Roundabouts, how many on this Forum GIVE WAY TO THE RIGHT at a roundabout, even if clearly you are going to be or are entering the roundabout before someone approaching on your Right, what a PITA, roundabouts were designed and introduced to keep traffic flowing.
Yet how many times does the person in front of you stop at the edge of entering the roundabout, even though the car approaching from the right is still 30 metres away.
Also that driver approaching from the right thinks he has right of way and he hasn't even reached the roundabout, and yet that same driver will give way to a car coming from the opposite direction and is turning right. The roundabout laws are probably the simplest ever made, 1. Slow down when approaching a Roundabout, 2. GIVE WAY to any vehicle IN or ENTERING the roundabout, 3. Indicate to the left when leaving the roundabout, WHERE PRACTICAL, so simple, but there are a lot of simple drivers out there and they don't all drive Volvos, Regards Frank.

A few weeks ago i was coming up to a roundabout and was turning right, i was just about to nudge my bullbar into the roundabout and this dickhead coming from the left looked at me as i almost collected his rear 1/4 and he was towing a trailer !
The ***** stared right at me and made no attempt to slow down let alone stop , i also had the same thing happen with a learner driver.

Coming home on the M4 freeway on Saturday from the farm I saw a group of cars all bunched up ahead. As I got closer I saw there was a Highway Patrol car behind a Camry in the RH overtaking lane (3 lanes at this section).

The Camry was going well below the 110 kph speed limit and in a short distance the Highway Patrol put its lights on and instructed the Camry driver to pull over. I was a few cars back when the Camry driver just pulled up on the median (RHS of the road). The resultant catastrophe was narrowly avoided as cars were locking up brakes, changing lanes and trying to get out of the way.

The Asian woman driver just sat there as the cop was gesticulating for her to move over to the breakdown lane which she did again without looking across three lanes again just as I was trying to pass with he resultant melee of vehicles locking up brakes and swerving.

Now if she was in an old Volvo she would have been much safer

There is a Video on U-tube showing a hoon trying to demolish a Volvo Station Wagon, christ these things have got to be the toughest car/wagon ever built, also seen one in a redneck Demolition Derby, it totally destroyed the field and was still driveable, have to get me one for the car park wars, Regards Frank.
