its funny how we have so much of it we could power most of Australia's industries for many years, without the worry of nukes, dead cows from wind farms, coal dust or reliance on imported fuel.
    But do our Pollies care?

Sorry, but there is no way that is a fact,if a car on LPG caught fire, and the tank caught fire, the result could be catastrophic.

The tanks have an auto shut off valve,so tank explosion would be very rare.

If it was anywhere near 60%,LPG would have been banned years ago.

Few yrs ago i had the head off one of our vans that ran on LPG,as some idiot mechanic didn't do the timing belts correctly and it bent a valve stem.

Anyway, the van had done 280000k,and the engine was like new.

I'm sure you'll try very hard to find a link to prove your assertion.

I think the servos may be getting out of LPG because their tanks may be getting up towards their use by dates.LPG kicked off in the early 80's,those servo tanks could well be coming up to 30 years old and the margins on LPG with impending new taxing would make it un-economic to replace the equipment.

Aah, something I can check on. Mmmm, google search, key words etc, find a result:

There is no evidence that LPG or any other type of vehicle are at a higher risk of catching fire.

    ......

The research did not find any significant trends for different fuel types to contribute to fire risk. While individual cases of vehicle fire have occasionally raised media interest in the relative safety merits of different fuels such as LPG, the research did not find any evidence to support that any individual fuel type represented an increased risk of vehicle fire.

    Looks like you're wrong.

Wrong again. LPG tanks have to be retested every 10 years. The installation, there is only a recommended inspection schedule, no certifying required.

No kidding, facts are so much harder than unevidenced assertions. Kids today, totally slack arsed.
