Had to work at Lardner Park today or I'd have come along. I'm booked for Col's LROCV trip next Sat.

How did it go? Their website looked like a bit of effort was going in.

I finally got up there after an eventful trip.

The police had Maroondah highway blocked at St Hubert's Winery and were funnelling everyone through Yarra Glen when I finally headed up there around 11ish. After 20 minutes in a traffic jam I turned around and went to Narbathong via Woori Yallock....

Anyway, once I got there, it seemed well set up, a bunch of cars on display, as PSI250 they were running small tagalongs every hours or so, they had a small off road coyurse they had instructors showing people through and Robert Pepper (RMP here) and a ofew others were giving various talks.

It was obviously a drive for club membership, like so many clubs, they are not attracting enough younger members.

But I quite enjoyed the afternoon.... glad I went.

That is interesting as Robert is a member of LROCV.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

They got our vote (ie credit card details :P). My wife and I enjoyed meeting some friendly members, checking out the display cars (thankfully the one set-up Range Rover on display was a sport!) and the kids ate their body weight in camp oven scones. We did the tag along and had a laugh getting the car ridiculously muddy in some ruts and holes.
I thought it was a pretty good effort for their first time putting on an event like that.
I think I like that there's lots of marques in the club. Much more interesting and I like the inclusiveness. I thought the Darwin Land Cruiser Club were a great mob - welcoming and family-oriented - but I did have to smile and roll with the never-ending obligatory digs at Land Rovers.
