Our 4 boys, who have just joined Scouts, will be going to the Dawn Service.

Our boys are all Special Needs & it has been quite a job trying to explain the meaning of ANZAC Day to them, we have ended up telling them it is to honour those from Australia who went to war, but I still don't think they really get it. Maybe being at the Service will help?

Unfortunately I will be in Doomadgee so wont be able to attend, I will go to the little Service we have here though.

I'm involved at the Dawn Service at Oxford Falls Peace Park (near Dee Why). Might take my oldest this year, he's probably old enough to stand by himself in the cold for a while waiting

Just returned from the Cardiff RSL sub branches Anzac Day dawn service. A good crowd attended and it is pleasing to see a lot of young faces there. I don't drink anymore but spent a couple of hours swapping yarns about how good we were.

Will head up to Fort Scratchley later this morning, it opens to the public at midday. As the Bofor will not be displayed (it will remain in the shed) I will not be wearing any sort of uniform, but will wear my AULRO shirt if anybody from the Forum is visiting, please make yourself known if you spot me, I will be mainly hanging around the shed where the Bofor is kept.:

ps. There was a lot of toing and froing about bringing the Bofor out, but it was eventually decided not to, because of the short time allowed and the main public focus will on the 6" guns at the Fort.

During the year, with the help of a Government grant, members of our Church's congregation have constructed a "Gallipoli Precinct" within the grounds, comprising a bluestone wall, plaque, flagpole, garden etc.
We held our first Anzac Day Service there this morning, followed by Anzac biccies & a cuppa.

A moving service at Dee Why Beach this morning with an address by Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Stevens, Commanding Officer of the 1st Commando Regiment.
Followed by a brilliant sunrise and breakfast at Dee Why RSL Club.

    Lest we forget
