Do you have access to a vehicle or will just be around the CBD and where public transport ca get you?
Plenty to see right there in the CBD depending on what you like to look at?
Fancy catching up for a beer?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
There has far as I can tell been a few changes in and around Melbourne since 1990. So there should be a few new places to see. A simple but interesting thing that I recommend to a fellow work mate, who later thanked me as it was good. Catch a ferry from the Crown casino to Williamstown and have lunch. Ferry is a decent size and the trip is not to long. There is a old war ship to check out in Williamstown and plenty of old shops to browse. Willamstown is a touristy type place with turn of the century shops ect.
Cheers Hall
Eat yourself stupid in Victoria street (like little Vietnam).
Make it to an AFL game at the MCG even if you hate the game.
Botanical gardens are worth a look.
Go to one of those set menu Greek joints in just past smith st in abottsfod
Visit acmi at fed square = free and some cool stuff in there.
See a band at the Espy (st kilda)
Go to phillip island if you have the time(go to the nobbies and the Vietnam war museum where they have a Canberra bomber, Cobra, UH1 and lots of other cool stuff).
Visit CERES in fitzroy community gardens and sustainable living exhibits (yes I'm a hippy at heart, plus they do great food).
Walk the bike path next to the Yarra
Do the old gaol ghost tour
Whilst it's a bit expensive, I'd definitely recommend the Docklands Wheel for those not from Melbourne. Just don't be terribly afraid of heights.

LLAMS, FYRLYTS, OL D4 Bar
Safari Snorkel, D4 hitch, ARB CKMA12
Fed Square, ACMI. Whilst you're heading up that way, NGV and the Shrine.
A little south from NGV, have a wander through Southbank and Crown. Is there anything on at the Exhibition Centre (aka Jeff's Shed, Brack's Shack)
Queen Vic Markets to the North, maybe a movie at Imax. Whilst in that area, Old Melbourne Gaol. Fancy a swim, Melbourne Baths. A little further north on the tram, you could grab some eats in Lygon St. Have a wander around Collins St., the Paris end, and view our "Houses of Parliament".
At night, take in a show. What's playine at State, National, Princess, Comedy Her Majesty's & Regent Theatres?
Lots to see and do in Melbourne.
Bloody hell guys.....I've only got 9 days......I'll have to come back.
Thanks for all the suggestions .....I will certainly do a few of them.
Now ...if I remember Melbourne weather......
