    GU Patrol finished. Victim of emission laws.

    Nissan no longer offer a diesel 4WD wagon, the only low range capable 4WD wagon will be the V8 petrol X62 Patrol.

    They probably thought since VW got caught out they better not risk it.
    might happen to a few more. Is Land Rover at risk, Toyota??

    Cannot comment on the actual vehicle itself, but I thought the demise of the (Patrol) diesel motor had been public knowledge from around the time Nissan got involved in V8 Supercars.

    There is an interesting engine possible for the newer patrol,
    Cummins pursuing diesel power for Nissan Patrol
    A Cummins v8 230kw and 750nm 5.0litre

    I mean they really couldn't announce the diesel last year as they would have sold less with people waiting for it.
    Now I wonder how hard it would be to put the 5.0v8 tdi with the asin 6 Spd auto into a defender?

    Maybe if the Patrol wasnt an ugly pos people might buy them, too late for a diesel now.

    I have a mate who's a Patrol Nut, he buys/repairs/sells/profits from them. He recently got told that there are no new 4.2L motors anywhere in the world, and no more are being made. The motors go for a stupid price now...

    so much for them being bullet proof...

    some of them around here leave an appalling trail of soot behind them when they hit the loud pedal...

    i only drove a few of them and they all seemed gutless... worse than the 3.5v8 rrc version of gutless

    i always liked the look of the patrol and miss my old g60 at times....

    The TD4.2 GU's are pretty good but the 3ltrs didnt have a good run, love the old G60's.
    They were one of the first 4wd's i saw that had me wanting one.
