Merc, bmw and a few others make a dedicated patrol veh with appropriate seating for people wearing equip belts etc, appropriate power suspension etc for purpose and wired for the multitude of extra electrics/electronics needed in today's fleets.

Merc had a programme years ago where after 60k it would go back and get rebuilt eng/ box/riffs and replaced suspect etc any repairs needed and reissued, 50k later they were to go back be rebuilt again and sold on for same programme in poorer countries ensuring they had disposal but also reliability etc.

Only reason it didn't happen here was govt decided cops driving mercs was a bad look even though they were apparently cheaper than the local made holders once fitted out.
