Buggar, that's not good, not high km's for a diesel.

There was no noise at all. Running at 110k/h on highway when it just lost all power and I coasted to a stop off the road.

No rise in temp? Smoke from the exhaust?

What was the result of the compression test, no compression could be a number of things, rings not sealing in bores, valves held open, holes in pistons.
Dust entering intake can very quickly destroy an engine, ZD 30 nissan motor we are replacing at the moment only lasted 2 months, lots of off-road driving, (pod type oiled cotton filter) just got slower and slower till it wouldn't pull a greasy stick out of a dogs bum, then just turn over but not start, Regards Frank.

Sad news. The engine dropped the inlet valve on no 1 cylinder. Shattered to bits and apparently sucked around motor. Block destroyed. Looks like I have to find a replacement engine.
