Nice bit of coastline - depending where you go houses will be $150,000aud upwards...
Near Brissy closer to $350-450k from what I've looked at.
300,000/3000 isn't more than 2 years.
I hope you're not planning to only need 2 years...
Hi all, it seems i'm gonna retire in the near future and i'm seriously thinking to live what's left of my life in Australia with my wife, somewhere near water... if i sell everything i have i estimate to get around 300,000 AUD and i'll have around 3000 monthly income... what do you think can i get a small furnished house somewhere to the Coral see for that money and have a decent life there with my income?
I accept any recommendation for cheaper areas i just want to be near water

I'd say you'd be pretty close if you buy your home free hold.
$3000 per month would give you a reasonably comfortable retirement I reckon.
And $300k will be be somewhere between easily achievable to no chance whatsoever, depending on where you want to be, and what sort of house you want.
Just as a random example, a 2 bed house close to the water in Agnes Water Agnes Water address available on request - Apartment for Sale #122525130 - realestate.com.au
You've not mentioned whether you have resident rights in Australia. If you don't, take a look at visa costs and application process before you get too excited.
That's a very nice house for a good price, i didnt check yet what's involved in resident rights but i thought that as long as i come to invest my money and not claim anything just spend my income it won't be a big problem, i dont want to work i want to retire.... i know i have a cousin there but unfortunately we didnt catch up too much since he's gone.... i'm just fumbling around to make a plan, thought to New Zealand as well... the fact is that i'm sick of Europe and all these stupid regulations here, as last option if my initial plans will fail i'll go to Nicaragua![]()

Having been through the immigration thing 10 years ago, I would investigate further before you get your hopes up. If my memory serves me right, you would need to bring money in the millions with you to qualify as a self funded retiree. Having said that though, once here, what a fantastic place to call home!

If you can't come here and looking into Central America, may I suggest Costa Rica. It's easy to get residence, politically note stable (I think),pretty cheap to live, and stunning scenery..
We are about 5 mins from the water and I need another tech...☺
