Low power BT is very short range..

I've tested these TrackRs and easily detect them from ~100mtrs in clear areas (line of sight)

In the house I can trigger them in the camper parked down the back at the workshop..

I use Tile, does the exact same thing. Picked up when someone walked passed my partner who was on a work trip in Melbourne and sent me an alert. Stalker

I like being able to find my phone or tablet within the house instantly by pushing the button on any of the keys. Handy if you're in a rush!

I'm trying to find a relatively inexpensive way to "Track" our work vehicle.

It would be in the local area of Doomadgee (I think, that's why I want to track it).

The old ute seems to take a long time to go to the dump etc & seems to use a fair bit of fuel doing it.

I would really like to know that when I send a staff member to X place that that is where they go & no where else.

    Any suggestions?

Throw a GPS in the glovebox.. leave it on...

Yeah it's going to need a GPS. So you could get a dedicated GPS tracker or maybe any old phone with a track app. But be aware a phone type solution will run out of battery quickly.

Just put a litre of fuel at a time, in it,see where it runs out.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
