Now we got big storms in Queensland, thousands without power, towers down, looking like days with without power. Thank god for coal and gas. [biggrin], should keep the topic on track for a few more months

This is the thing, there was a storm up somewhere north of Adelaide and the power goes out all over the state including the states south east where it was sunny with blue skies. Queensland gets a category 4 cyclone and only 40,000 houses lose power.
Yes, it seems a pretty serious announcement.

I was in the states south east near the Lake Bonney wind farms at the time. Fine and sunny at the time of the power outage. There was no storm that night and no power the next day.
Ok, I may have been a little off with the ammount of homes without power in Queensland but that is what they said in the ABC radio a few mornings ago. Still didn't take out the whole state.
