Lyon Energy has just announced a $1 billion solar/battery project for SA to employ 250. This is quite separate to SA Government's power tenders.

Didn't take out the whole state, though.
This is the thing, there was a storm up somewhere north of Adelaide and the power goes out all over the state including the states south east where it was sunny with blue skies. Queensland gets a category 4 cyclone and only 40,000 houses lose power.

Yes, it seems a pretty serious announcement.

Some more of these and coal will be redundant.

Only 40,000 without power in qld?
I've read about 90,000 on the gold coast alone and no power in Bowen for at least 3 days!

You mean the intense low pressure system that tracked across Victor Harbor the down the SE coast while causing destructive gales for a 300km swathe to the north then behind it.

    Fake news.

Thousands without power as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie lashes SE Qld - myGC.com.au

It is not known how long it will take crews to fully restore the power. More than 105,000 homes and businesses lost power during the height of the severe weather on Thursday night.

Gas first then wind and batteries. News coming in on tenders for battery systems in SA.

Software settings that were easily changed proved to be a part of the small state wide nuisance. Funny how AEMO didn't know how to run a 21st C power network.

I was in the states south east near the Lake Bonney wind farms at the time. Fine and sunny at the time of the power outage. There was no storm that night and no power the next day.

Ok, I may have been a little off with the ammount of homes without power in Queensland but that is what they said in the ABC radio a few mornings ago. Still didn't take out the whole state.
