    ^^ scam

Consumer group CHOICE has recommended changing plans at least once a year to get the lowest power bills.
Spokesman Tom Godfrey said after 12 months providers might roll customers onto general contracts with higher costs.
"When the discount period runs out or if you miss a payment, you don't want to end up paying through the nose," he said.

We were in the same boat. Our solution: build our own gas turbine.

Our daughter just got her solar rebate raised from 6 to 17 + a 5% power charge cut by Origin, so there are deals out there.

Comparing the levelized cost of energy technologies

Some interesting articles , i will have to read them again A.H to get my head around it all

I am thinking the big difference is dispatchabilty, if you want 1,000 Mwh tomorow for 12 hours to plug a hole , who can guarantee deliverably, it used to be Coal, maybe tomorrow it will be Snowy 2.0 or Tassie, possibly gas if the price is right. It certainly wont be wind or Solar , and syncing ? the network so we get that nice smooth power
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Energy Innovation’s mission is to accelerate progress in clean energy by supporting the policies that most effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
    Says it all right there.

Another storm cell not dissimilar to the 2016 one is approaching SA. I'll be watching the weather radar as it approaches.

Did SA survive? Hope no electricity towers fell over.
Don't worry - Qld has plenty of power to help SA out if needed.
