    Sealing the Outback Way

Sealing the Outback Way - what a great idea. It's always seemed strange to me there wasn't a sealed road across the centre - it's just such a logical idea. If only it could happen.

Why would they be needed? You can get from West to East now through the Centre without permits so there should be no difference?
(Unless it's seen as a money maker by certain people )

Not happy. Before you know it there'll be a maccas in the middle. Totally against.

Its the thin end of the wedge.

    RIP outback australia.

By sealing it it opens up the whole area for Grey nomads with Land Cruisers and big caravans with out the risk of them damaging their rigs.
Having a maccas everywhere allows grey nomads rest stops where they can get a Mc coffee and a $2 cone.
If also puts them off the road for a while so that other frustrated motorists that were stuck behind them a chance to pass.
    See there's logic behind everything.

    It's called progress.

Birdsville to Windorah will soon be sealed.

The Strezeleckie Track from Marree to at least Moomba will soon be sealed.

    Adelaide to Darwin is sealed.

    Synnedy to Perth is sealed.

    wheres the problem?

We will be able to go to many beautiful remote places in our sports cars with the roof down.

    I'm looking forward to it.

    You won't need a 4wd within 20yrs.

Hey mate, im sure that the cones will cost a lot more than a couple of bucks once the most remote store in the southern hemisphere is constructed 😂😂

Whilst not denying the locals who travel these roads every day the necessity of a sealed all-weather road, it does mean that we have to go further off-piste to find some solitude from the masses. Unfortunately sealing the main roads adds pressure on the side roads off the main road, which leads to their early demise too.

Sealing the Great Central Road would put added pressure on the old Gun Barrel Hwy alignment and Sandy Blight Jn Rd etc. due to them all now being more accessible.....
