If you haven't got an extended warranty I would be buying one,ask your dealer.

Depends entirely on what you want to do with it. Perhaps for your needs it is perfect as it is.
Maybe you should hang onto your money until you find a need for something.
Wouldn't bother with a lift until you've decided it's primary use and fitted all the accessories you want.
Yep, agree with the others. Don't do a lift yet - you may not need it. Just because you see all the good ol' boys in thier Pootrols with huge lifts and big tyres, it doesn't mean they've done the right thing. Your Defender is a far more capable vehicle, and in bog stock form will go almost anywhere you want it to.
If your just touring and tooling around a bit on the weekends, spend your money elsewhere.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Hi Teerex. Welcome to AULRO. As some have said before, don't rush to do anything, until you have done several trips, and found a few things you need.. Inverably you will want a roo bar on the front, and this will lead to a winch which makes the nose heavy. 110's always sit low at the nose and is one thing I think spoils the look.. If you do add nose weight, then try just a 2" lift in the nose to make it sit level. I think they then look a lot more purposeful. Just my opinion tho. Defenders are incredibly agile straight out of the box, so your only limiting factor there might be tyres if you're getting into really wet stuff. The more you do, the more you'll want. The more you see the more you'll want.. My last Defender was a Td5 130.. It ended up having 75mm lift on the nose, 40mm lift on the tail, 285 tyres on hider alloys, Trutrac diff in the front and a Detroit Locker in the rear, HyTuff shafts all round and Ashcroft CV's. by the time I was done it was frightening where it would go! Looked pretty good too IMO! As always, I got bored and another LR came along! That has since gone and a 12 tonne 4x4 truck now sits in their place! What ever you do, it will put your stamp on your vehicle. Get out and do some trips, and we might see you about!

I would buy a snorkel, bullbar, cargo barrier (to protect passengers from flying gear and provide support for the weak defender roof and therefore occupants,in a rollover) and a second battery, ( to run fridge, compressor, winch) It's wonderful having a fridge!

Teerex, welcome and good onya for seeking advice. A wise person knows what they do not know!
Don't take offense please: Here's the thing, currently you are the limiting factor to your vehicles capability.
I spent 8 years with the Army ranging across the Gulf and Cape York, mostly cross country, in vehicles very similar to what you have.
No lockers, no toughened axles, no 35 inch tyres. Just 50mm over standard.
What we did have was Training, training and more training.
If you want to explore the capabilities of your great vehicle, first spend money on yourself;
Basic 4wd course
Advanced course with advanced recovery technique
First aid
Remote response/ wilderness first aid.
This training will allow you outdrive, safely, massively modified vehicles driven by numpties.
Not only that, but you get to take your 'modifications' with you to any vehicle you drive.
This will also allow you to respond well when bad stuff happens in the very remote places you can now reach.
Cheers, BDave.
