Interesting competitor for the new Defender

An interesting vehicle that will further shake up the mid size 4wd dual cab market and provides some insight into the challenges that the Project Icon team must face....

Article here : BBC - Autos - X-Class is the Mercedes-Benz of pickups

From what I've read elsewhere, it is basically a Nissan Navara with Mercedes body bits thrown on.

Apparently Audi are also thinking of releasing a ute - don't know much about what theirs is based on though - I would assume VW Amarok.

If Mercedes Builds A Pickup Truck So Will Audi
    Cheers .........

My understanding as well & there are a few issues with the Datsun chassis apparently.

New Defender in this configuration would be a good chance I'd say.

The bits from under the old Discovery should become the new Defender.
