May be what you bought was not in stock and they are drop shipping it all over the world to get the pieces put on it to make it whole.
I bought something from the US once and it went from Kentucky to a neighboring State then back to Kentucky, then out of Kentucky and then back into Kentucky.

I think they must all have their good & bad runs.

Around this time last year, I ordered a plug & cable (VW equivalent of IID Tool / Nanocom) for my young bloke's Amarok from the US. Could have got the same thing from Sydney or Brisbane, but at nearly double the price. It came by Fedex, and was here in about four days from ordering from memory. I only paid for the items, and was told that I would be billed separately by Fedex for the freight. So far (and it's been 12 months now) - I have not heard anything further from Fedex or anyone else.

I have purchased gear from both the States and the UK on numerous occasions, and have generally been very pleased with the delivery times - usually much faster than delivery of items purchased within Australia.

But - I just received a parcel from Duckworths in the UK this morning. According to the stamp, it was posted on the 18th of last month - so it's taken 21 days to get here. Was shipped via Royal Mail / Australia Post, and is stamped by Royal Mail as "Priority Handling & Registered Delivery".
Delivery time on this one hasn't bothered me, as I was not in an urgent rush for the items in any case - but just goes to show the differences in delivery times that you can experience.

Have to say that I'm very happy with the service from Duckworths. Goods were ordered, paid for and shipped all on the same day, with only one e-mail and a brief telephone conversation to confirm exactly what I was ordering.
    Cheers .........
