BOLO Black 130 Camper travelling Oz

Just met a lovely couple new to our shores from Deutchland via Russia/ Mongolia/ Laos and Bali!
Got a big wave from them at some lights and hunted them through traffic to say g'day. Running D rego plates so easy to spot as a visitor.
Introduced them to a Perentie and they were suitably impressed with what we have access to here.
Give em a wave and the usual welcome. Doing the lap over 12-18months.

Thanks Barefoot Dave and hello Australia

    Hello lovely Landy community,

we are Ellen and Jonas, who were hunted down by Dave the other day. Since July 2014 we are on our 'way to Australia', travelling happily in a Defender 130 300 TDI (97), and finally can say: we arrived. We work along the way and often get stuck in places, that's probably the reason why it took us so long.

We were so happy to hear about your Australian Land Rover community while being on a first tiny trip north of Brisbane (Glasshouse Mountains, Cooloola NP, Fraser Island). After 2 weeks of waiting for customs and quarantine to finish all needed inspections and to arrange the road permit, we finally are free to explore this part of the world. And it feels promising from the first day on.

Thanks a lot to the administrators for running this. Our German equivalent (Blacklandy) was always the first place to get the very best exchange about anything anyhow related to our beloved vehicle and to meet Landy folks

If anybody is interested in having a closer look to our route, you get a good overview here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer...9A7eS6ggDvaVpI

Dave mentioned our blog as well. Unfortunately it's in German, but maybe you just want to have a look at some photos: https://intothefar.de/bildergalerie

I attach a few photos from the Landy reincarnation as well.

Thanks Barefoot Dave for the warm welcoming and hope too see all the others on the road! Peace, Ellen and Jonas

We are preparing our defender to ship to Germany....in a few years times.

Enjoy your travels around AUS......I'm guessing it will be a little busy in Fraser this time of the year.

Welcome to Australia, and may your travels be happy and trouble free

Plenty of people on here will want to see and probably meet up with you on your tour and show you around a bit. It's a great place as I'm sure you'll find out quickly,, soak it up.

    A little update

    Hey folks,

after a beautiful time on the east coast and two wonderful months in Tassie we are finally hitting the outback now. We passed Marree and started slow by getting on the Oodnadatta track. Right now we are happy sitting around a fire in William Creek after having a pretty cold night somewhere in this dirt!
So far the outback reminds us on our time in Mongolia, lots of nothingness and dirt, what a gorgeous feeling. We had a little unexpected stop in the Flinders where I thought our Turbo died, but luckily we are on the road again.

Have a great time and see ya somewhere out there!
