    G'day Ian,

Thanks for the reply - I was actually practising some levity as per a previous message on this thread.

BTW January 2017 will find me getting a new set of contact lenses. Apparently as we age so too does our eyes. I had the same prescription for 15 years - now a prescription lasts less than 3 years. So $2.2K later I might not have to wear contact lenses and glasses to read. 2016 has been such a fun year eye wise -NOT!

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    G'day Hodgo,

I cannot blame you for not being able to work out what I wrote. I look at pieces of my writing and am aghast at it too. There is still a lot of theories I just scratch my head at. For some reason plain English and academic writing appear on two different ends of a spectrum.

My practical stuff that I have designed for workshops does not include any of the theory or complex language - mostly because it doesn't have to. However, the mob who will hopefully give me a nice piece of paper to hang on the wall apparently like the big words.

I come to AULRO and work on my Land Rovers to return to reality.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Thanks for the clarification, I thought your OP was somewhat out of character.

    Hello Ian,

As soon as I can get a certain document written up and examined. I will have some spare time, some money in the bank. Then I will have some time to brush the cobwebs off my slide guitar. Then I can learn how to play it and someday I might be able to play mellow stuff like this. No I do not have Weissenborn guitar - some day though... Oh and work on getting one of my Series IIIs on the road too

Accessed December 30, 2016 from, It is meant to show For those who have gone clear on a Weissenborn guitar not sure if the link is working though.

    Link Attempt

    Hello All,

See if it works on an original message and not on a quote ...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_2IOY6rnUc

Incisor - Incisor the link is not working.... Where are you Incisor?

Oh well Ian go to youtube and copy and paste this description into the search line

For Those Who've Gone Clear - Weissenborn Guitar

The Wessenborn's have such a distinctive and mellow sound, plus they cost a lot too - of course

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Hello All,

I just converted Chapter 5 from being an independently written document to incorporating it with the other already completed chapters.

These earlier chapters are all in one document with its own Table of Contents. I had to go through and readjust all the numbers for the List of Figures and List of Tables plus get EndNote to reformat all the List of References. Chapter 5 just took today to edit.

Onwards and upwards to Chapter 6 .... tomorrow

Now I just need to re-edit and significantly reduce the page count for Chapters 6-8 and then write Chapter 9 from scratch. This means that the last thing to do will be for me to hand form and place the List of Appendices - which Word will not let me do automatically. Plus all the appendices have to be copied onto a USB Memory Stick - with hyperlinks leading to each appendix.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

I did waste a lot of years trying... but my bosses and co-workers have assured me that it didn't work so now I don't bother...

    Normal is boring anyway

I used to be in a band many many years ago. When the main songwriter got stuck on a lyric, he would write himself a letter , post it second class slow mail and then he'd forget about it - get the letter in a couple of days and kind of see it with fresh eyes and off he'd go again. All sounds a bit precious - but it worked for him.

    Unique approach; whatever works.

    Email would kill that...
