I've personally done it in my TDCi on an official track when doing my emergency services driving accreditation,it passed no worries. Pat

Never owned a Hi-Lux, or a Ranger or any sort of twin cab etc, probably never will,...but I do keep an eye on what's selling, & yes, I did notice that Hi-Lux has knocked off the Corolla.
Obviously the Hi-Lux is a pretty good vehicle, but I did hear, maybe it was on here, that the reason it has so many sales is because of the truly MASSIVE number of fleet sales.
Holden were hoping to do well with their "new" Colorado, but I haven't heard too much positive about it,...anywhere.
A friend of mine has a Ranger, a Wildkat?..something like that,...and He loves it. So I ain't no expert on this type of vehicle, but what would attract me to the Ranger would be the 3.2L engine, which has a bit more grunt than the competition.

Nuthen wrong with a Hi-lux !!!!! . I f i was lost in the desert and a Hi-Lux stopped to pick me up , would i get in ???? You Betcha .

Big Fleet pricing was/is very very good... for Hilux..

And then you have sales orders such as the order for 20,000 units for Saudi, which are given as gifts to neighbouring tribes to help maintain peace with the kingdom...

we tend to challenge the HiLux 4x4 here, but the majority of those sales are the workmate, the common tradie ute.and with fleet discount, abn advantages etc that Toyota offer , a tradie would be a mug not to lease one

The 3.2 has only marginally more power than the 2.8 Hilux engine. Where the Ranger is much further ahead is with standard features and the extra bells and whistles. Much nicer place to be in the Ranger than the Hilux, but I still like mine. :)

I rode in that thing for 200 metres and needed a physio after that short distance.
