Can't believe the amount of people who don't give a **** that their car can't even pass the moose test. Have seen too many wild cows and bulls in my short time touring to not worry about being able to swerve around one.

And they keep telling us we should have less fatalities as cars are safer than ever.... This under engineered pos wouldn't be helping...

True. But don't forget. Vehicles only pass those tests on road tyres, standard suspension, no front bars etc...

Once (even mildly) modified, many vehicles can not pass..

I doubt a defender would pass the stupid moose test....

In all my touring I struggle to remember the very few times I have seen a dead cow or bull on the side of the road.......

I would say most people would not be able to control there car by violently swerving even if it does pass the 'moose test' given when they are touring they are close to GVM.

I have a company hi-lux and have no problems loading it up to GVM, hooking up a 1200kg camper trailer and heading off on holidays. Never felt that it doesn't break, steer well enough.

I think too many people are one marquee focus I.e. the manufacturer they have poured the hard earnt cash into and everything else is crap

Over the years I've had 2 Hi-Luxes.
Both were the ones with beam axels & both were OK cars.
I didn't expect them to be overly comfortable or powerful & I wasn't disappointed but they both did exactly what I needed at the time.

I don't (or try very hard not to) swerve around cattle or wild life! To me that's asking for trouble. Brake hard & once you have washed off enough speed then maybe head for the bush as long as there is somewhere to go. I have ended up with some bent Bull Bars & damage doing this but I haven't ended up on my roof with an un-drivable car!
So far anyway.
