Very glad I don't live in a flood zone. Why do people move next to rivers? In most countries the rich live on the hills and the poor on the flats, but in Oz we do the opposite - dumb!

Do some research as to why there is relatively recent housing allowed to be built on the Brisbane river floodplain (basically politics), and do some research on flood levels from the past.

There have been some amazing events in years gone by, way more extreme than recent.
